CAIRO – 11 June 2018: Egypt national team assistant coach, Osama Nabih, revealed on Monday that it is too early to decide Salah’s availability for the World Cup opener against Uruguay on June 15, according to Filgoal.
“We still have four days until the game and we will decide Salah’s situation hours before the game," Nabih told Filgoal.
Salah is still recovering from the shoulder injury he picked after a tangle with Sergio Ramos in the Champions League final against Real Madrid. He left the game after 30 minutes and watched Liverpool's 3 -1 loss from the dressing room.
Nabih added “Salah’s recovery is going well but we can’t speak now about his participation against Uruguay.”
Salah led the Egyptian national team's delegation that arrived to Grozny International Airport, Russia, on Sunday afternoon to participate in the World Cup for the first time since 1990.
The Egyptian national football team carried out on Sunday their first training at Akhmat-Arena stadium in the Chechen capital, Grozny, after hours of their arrival.
All members of the team participated in the training except Salah who performed therapeutic exercises.
The World Cup draw put Egypt in Group A alongside Saudi Arabia, Russia and Uruguay.
