CAIRO - 11 June 2018: The Court of Urgent Matters ruled on Sunday to lift the custody off Zamalek's money. Zamalek's president, Mortada Mansour, has filed a lawsuit to lift the custody, pending the rest of the litigation.

Zamalek's bank accounts have been frozen due to debt from former club president Mamdouh Abbas' tenure.

Zamalek paid LE 40 million to the bank ($2.27 million) out of the LE 160 million debt; the remaining balance will be divided into installments. Zamalek’s financial committee also reached an agreement with the Social Insurance Authority to pay LE 10 million out of the LE 28 million debt.

The White club’s successive boards in the past years indebted the club. Zamalek is still paying dues for former players like Junior Agogo, Mahmoud Fathallah, Ahmed Samir and Ricardo.
