CAIRO – 10 June 2018: Egyptian national team's delegation headed to Russia on Sunday morning from Cairo Airport to participate in the World Cup for the first time since 1990.

The Pharaohs' delegation, headed by EFA member Essam Abdel Fatah, is set to arrive in Grozny on Sunday afternoon, where they will perform their first training session. The Egyptian team arrives five days before their first match against, Uruguay that is set to take place on Friday, June 15 at 2 p.m. (CLT).

It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian defender Saad Samir headed to Russia two days ago due to passport issues.

Egypt’s chosen squad for the World Cup consists of:
Goalkeepers:
Essam el Hadary, Sherif Ekramy and Mohamed el Shennawy

Defenders:
Saad Samir, Ahmed Hegazi, Omar Gaber, Ali Gabr, Mohamed Abdel Shafy, Ayman Ashraf, Ahmed Fathy, Mahmoud Hamdy and Ahmed el Mohamady.

Midfielders:
Sam Morsy, Mohamed el Neny, Tarek Hamed, Abdullah el Said, Mahmoud Hassan known as Trezeguet, Amr Warda, Mahmoud Abdel Razek known as Shikabala and Ramadan Sobhy.

Strikers:
Mahmoud Abdel Monem known as Kahraba, Marwan Mohsen and Mohamed Salah.

Egypt plays in Group A alongside the South American giant, Uruguay; Arab rival, Saudi Arabia; and the host, Russia.

The Pharaohs will then meet Russia on June 19 at 8 p.m. before ending the group stage against Saudi Arabia on June 25 at 4 p.m.
