CAIRO – 7 June 2018: The Egyptian Olympic team defeated the Algerian Olympic team 1-0 in their friendly match held on Wednesday.
It’s the second friendly match between both Arab teams in their preparations for the 2019 U-23 AFCON, which qualifies for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The first game ended by a victory for the Pharaohs 2-1 at Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida, Algeria.
Al-Ahly’s striker, Salah Mohsen, scored the only goal in the 29th minute after several brilliant passes by Egyptian players. This is the fourth goal for Mohsen with the Egyptian Olympic team.
The 2019 U-23 AFCON will take place in Egypt in November 2019. The top three teams of AFCON will qualify for the Olympic Games.
Egypt last qualified for the Olympic Games in 2012 when London hosted the games.
