CAIRO – 15 May 2017: New drugs will be added to the prohibited list of steroids, next September, Confederation of African Football CAF officials said to their counterparts of Egypt’s Al-Ahly Club.

CAF will officially contact the teams taking part in both African Champions League and CAF Cup, within weeks, to inform them with the drugs added and confirmed during CAF medical committee conference, that took place in Cameroon, last April, and was attended by Al-Ahly physician Abd Al-Majid Ibrahim as representative of the club, Al-Ahly source said.

The prohibited drugs include Tramadol, that isn’t yet prohibited although it’s common among some Egyptian players, in addition to coffee if the intake exceeded 150 mm or seven cups, as it includes caffeine, the source added.
