CAIRO – 14 May 2018: Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane failed to achieve the top goal scorer award for the third consecutive year, as he lost the battle to Liverpool’s Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah.

“It's good to have competition; it's great for the Premier League to have two players at the 30-goal mark," Kane told Sky Sports on Monday.

Salah has had a great debut season with Liverpool, scoring 44 goals in all competitions, including 32 goals in the Premier League, which crowned him the top goal scorer, two goals ahead of Kane.

Kane showed his admiration for the Egyptian winger, saying, “Mo has done great this year; he deserves it. He deserves the Golden Boot; he has done amazing this year and he looks like a great player and we'll see if we can both continue it next season.”

Despite Tottenham Hotspur’s failure to achieve any title this season, they finished the League in the third position and won a spot in the UEFA Champions League for the third consecutive year, which is a great achievement, according to Kane.

“It has been a good year. The top six now is so strong; everyone's really competitive. So for us to finish in the top three for the third year in a row is brilliant," the striker added.
