CAIRO – 11 May 2018: Mohamed Salah can’t stop winning awards for his amazing season with Liverpool; he won four awards on Thursday.
On Thursday morning, the Egyptian was named Liverpool’s Player of the Month for April. Salah scored six goals in April, helping his team approach their dream, as the Reds qualified to the final of UEFA Champions League by beating AS Roma 7-6 on aggregate.
Then later, the Egyptian picked up Liverpool's Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season trophies at an event at Anfield on Thursday night before flying to be presented with the Football Writers' Association's Footballer of the Year award in London.
Salah spoke to Liverpool’s official website after winning the awards.
"I am very happy to win these awards," Salah said. "I had a good season, but without the help of my teammates it would have been very difficult.
The Egyptian scored two goals in the first leg against Roma; one of his two goals won the Goal of the Week award in the Champions League semi-finals.
"I enjoy my football so much here; the quality of the players and everything here makes me happy. We help each other, so I'm very happy with what we're doing," he added.
Salah won the Player of the Month award for the seventh time this season; he achieved it in August, September, November, December, February, March and April.
"[There are] still two games to go, so we have to think about that," he said.
Liverpool is set to face Real Madrid in the final game of the UEFA Champions League on May 26. They met before in 1981’s Champions League edition; Liverpool reaped the title then.
"I'm very excited to play the last game of the season on Sunday and the final of the Champions League. Everyone is excited in the city, also the players," Salah stated.
