CAIRO – 6 May 2018: Former Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson underwent an emergency surgery for brain hemorrhage on Saturday. The surgery was successful but he needs a period of intensive care to recover, according to Manchester United's official Twitter account. Ferguson’s family requested some privacy regarding this matter.

“My thoughts and prayers are with you, my dear friend. Be strong, Boss!” Real Madrid’s centre-forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, commented on his official Twitter account.

Several football clubs such as Manchester City, Leicester City, AC Milan and Al Ahly SC wished Ferguson a full and quick recovery after the surgery.
Ferguson coached Manchester United from 1986 to 2013; he was one of the greatest and most successful football managers. During his time at Manchester United, they won 38 trophies, including five FA Cups, two UEFA Champions League and 13 Premier League titles.
