CAIRO – 3 May 2018: Zamalek misses their goalkeeper, Mahmoud Abd El-Rehim ‘Gennesh’, and their left-back, Ahmed Fattouh, in Egypt Cup’s semifinal against Ismaily.
Zamalek qualified to the semi-final after beating Al-Intag El-Harby 3-1 in the quarter-final on Wednesday at Petrosport stadium. The White team will face Ismaily on May 7 at Burg El-Arab stadium.
Gennesh and Fattouh got their third yellow card against Al-Intag to miss the important clash.

Zamalek’s third goalkeeper, Omar Salah, has a great chance to show himself to the Egyptian football fans as the Whites’ main goalkeeper, especially since Ahmed El-Shennawy, suffers a serious injury. Gennesh featured eight times this season with Zamalek.
On the other hand, Fattouh’s absence will be solved by Marouf Youssef, Zamalek’s midfielder, who played in this position many times this season. Fattouh participated in 12 matches this season.
Zamalek witness a bright period after former coach Ihab Galal’s departure. Khaled Galal, the new coach, managed to bring back confidence to the players who defeated Al-Ahly in their last league’s match besides qualifying to the semi-final of the Egypt Cup.
Zamalek SC’s president announced that the White Club signed the Swiss coach Christian Gross in a two-year contract. Khaled Galal is set to be Gross’ assistant in the new coaching staff.
Gross prefers to start his reign with Zamalek at the start of the next season. The Egyptian League’s new season will start on Aug. 3.
