CAIRO – 1 May 2018: Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah is nominated for the Premier League’s Goal of the Month award for April.
Salah’s nominated goal came against Bournemouth on April 14, which ended with a 3-0 victory for Liverpool. Salah scored Liverpool’s second goal after receiving a wonderful cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold; the Egyptian touched the ball with his head over the opponent’s goalkeeper.
Salah’s goal competes with Kevin De Bruyne’s goal against Swansea City, Wilfried Zaha’s goal against Leicester City, Paul Pogba’s goal against Manchester City, Ayoze Perez’s goal against Leicester City, Dele Alli’s goal against Chelsea, Christian Eriksen’s goal against Chelsea and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goal against Southampton.
Salah has never won a Goal of the Month award, but he achieved the Player of the Month award for November, February and March.
Salah has had an amazing debut season with his club and was named PFA Player of the Season, having scored 43 goals, including 31 goals in the league to be the Premier League top goal scorer, four goals ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.
The Egyptian winger also won the Football Writers’ Association’s Footballer of the Year award on Tuesday.
