CAIRO – 29 April 2018: Cairo Hell Hounds defeated Cairo Bears 34-26 in the Egyptian National Football League on Friday at the Maadi Olympic Center field.
The Hounds remained on top of the league after achieving their fifth consecutive victory at the regular season.
“It was the toughest game of the season because the Bears were desperate to win the game and reach the playoffs,” Hounds’ receiver Al Hassan Mourad told Egypt Today.
Hounds’ Aly Samir and Matthew Kershy had a perfect game and they exhausted the Bears’ defense with a lot of successful plays.
On the other hand, Hassan El Ganayny and Ashraf Mohamed continued their massive partnership at the defense and they shut down all the Bears’ offensive units’ trials to score.
The Hounds have had an amazing season as they finished the regular season with a score of 204 points and they only received 46 to finish the regular season with the best defensive and offensive performances at the League.
“It has been a great season for us and we hope to maintain our performances and win the title at the end of the season,” added Mourad.
Mourad has established himself as a key player at the Hounds and he won Most Valuable Player when they defeated the Warriors.
The Hounds reached the playoffs undefeated and they will meet the title holders, GUC Eagles, on Friday May 4.
Hell Hounds defeated the Eagles 44-12 at the regular season to end the Eagles’ three-year unbeaten run at the League.
