CAIRO – 28 April 2018: Liverpool hosts Stoke City at Anfield on Saturday afternoon in the 36th week of the Premier League.
Liverpool wants to maintain its place in the standing table in order to secure its seat among the top four, where the team can qualify directly to the UEFA Champions League. But Liverpool has the chance to qualify directly to the Champions League even if they don’t finish the Premier League season among the top four. That could happen only if the Reds win the current edition of the tournament, as Liverpool is now three steps closer than AS Roma to be in the final, after the Reds defeated Roma 5-2 in the first leg.
Meanwhile, Stoke City will fight for the three points in an attempt to escape from the relegation zone, as the team occupies the nineteenth place. Stoke City, West Bromwich and Southampton are at the bottom of the table and are expected to relegate to the lower division. Stoke City includes Egyptian midfielder Ramadan Sobhy, while national team defenders Ahmed Hegazi and Ali Gabr both play for West Bromwich.
Liverpool announced its official lineup for the game with the participation of the Egyptian King Mo Salah:
Stoke City’s squad for the game doesn’t include Sobhy in the starting line, but he will be sitting on the substitutes’ bench:
