CAIRO – 22 April 2018: Egypt Rally organizers announced that El Gouna will host the eight edition of Egypt Rally between May 10 and 12.
Egypt Rally was launched in 2010 by Bosla and has since turned into an annual event hosted by El Gouna. Egypt Rally follows the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) guidelines for safety and regulations.
Many motorsports teams will participate in El Gouna Rally this year and it is as follows:
Rahhala Racing is the first professional motorsports team in Egypt. With a dedicated 24-member team and a successful business model, Rahhala Racing has cemented its status as one of the top Arab teams in the Cross Country Rally World.
The Sahara Racing Team came to life in 2015 winning Egypt's cross country rally Championship in its year of initiation and in 2016 won Egypt’s Championship in the category T2. In 2017, the team scored first position in Gouna rally challenge in the same category.
HammerHead Racing was established in 2013 by Sherif Abdel Azim. Sherif started as a copilot and will be the pilot of the team. He is also a pilot by profession but in the air; and an adrenaline junkie very much into outdoor activities. Ahmed El-Mehi is the co-pilot of the team; an aviation engineer, as well as a motor head and biker.
SITRA Racing was founded by Hesham Elghamry and has been active in the cross country rally scene since 2010. On their UK custom built “Desert Warrior”.
Fox Tribe Rally Raid Team one of the oldest successful rally teams in Egypt, was initiated in 2012 and since then they participated in nearly every rally that takes place in Egypt. The team is very passionate about cross country rallies, very devoted, and always eager to see the finish line.
Amino Brothers Racing Team is one of the leading racing teams in motorsports in Egypt. The team is highly experienced in off-roading and shares the passion for rally racing.
El Gouna Rally will witness the participation of the 4x4 Challenge, which was introduced for the first time in Egypt at Sahl Hashish Rally 2017.
The rally is supported by the Red Sea governorate, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Environment, and the Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt, according to Rally Egypt’s official Facebook page.
