CAIRO – 19 April 2018: Liverpool had signed English midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal during last summer’s transfer market. Since then, the player has found his way to Liverpool’s starting squad and seems to be enjoying football at his new club.
“It's not hard to go and enjoy it when you go out there and you hear the fans singing; I love it. As a player, you can't thank people enough for that; they are the moments you dream of as a young lad,” he told Liverpool’s website on Wednesday.
Chamberlain helped his team reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2008, scoring a goal in their 3-0 victory over Manchester City in the first leg of the quarter-finals.
Asked about the team’s upcoming challenges, he said, “We're in a good spell at the moment; it's really enjoyable, but we need to keep focused and I need to keep focused to keep performing at this level and improve to help the team move forward."
Liverpool will face Roma in the Champions League semi-finals and they are still competing to finish the Premier League in the top four to secure a position in the Champions League next season.
