James Rodriguez sees Ronaldo as goal-scoring machine

CAIRO – 17 April 2018: Bayern Munich’s Colombian winger, James Rodriguez, praised his former teammate at Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo, and believes that Bayern Munich has to do everything to stop him when they meet in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

“He's a goal-scoring machine who is always there whenever he is needed, so we have to be strong as a team to try to make sure he doesn't have his best day,” James told Marca on Tuesday.



The Colombian shared Real Madrid’s dressing room with Ronaldo between 2014 and 2017, and Rodriguez believes that Real Madrid has a strong squad that will make Bayern Munich’s mission more difficult.



“Real aren't just Ronaldo; they have great players in other positions, and what's clear is that it won't be easy,” added Rodriguez.

The Champions League semi-finals draw put Real Madrid against Bayern Munich, repeating their clash last year when Real Madrid eliminated Bayern Munich from the same competition in the quarter-finals.



However, Rodriguez believes that his teammates should not search for revenge against Real Madrid.

He said, “We shouldn't see the two games against Madrid as revenge or rematches from last year; we must believe in ourselves, remain calm and put up two strong games.”
