CAIRO – 17 April 2018: Al-Ahly manager, Hossam el-Badry, revealed on Tuesday April 17, that he had reached an agreement with the club to renew his contract that ends in the summer.
“Al-Ahly’s board offered me a new contract and I accepted it. I have had a great relation with the club since I was a kid and I will be happy to be the club's manager for more years,” Badry told Al-Ahy official website on Tuesday.
Badry served in Al-Ahly as an assistant coach between 2001 and 2009 and then he became the first team head coach in 2010.
Asked about the team’s upcoming challenges, he said “We won the League but we still have Egypt’s Cup and two games at the CAF Champions League against Tunisia’s Espérance and Uganda’s Kampala City and we will do everything we can to end the season well.”
Al-Ahly reached Egypt’s Cup quarter finals and they will face Al Assiouty Sport on April 30.
At the CAF Champions League, the group stage draw, held in March, put Al-Ahly in Group A alongside Botswana’s Township Rollers F.C., Kampala City and Espérance.
