CAIRO – 14 April 2018: Sami Al-Jaber, the former Saudi football legend, took charge of Al-Hilal’s presidency after accepting the resignation of former president Nawaf bin Saad.
The General Authority for Saudi Sport, headed by Turki Al Sheikh, announced that it accepted Nawaf’s resignation on Friday night.
The Saudi authority assigned Al-Jaber as Al-Hilal’s president; Turki posted on his official Twitter account: “My dear brother Sami Al-Jaber is Al-Hilal’s president. In his football career, he wrote his name in gold in the history of Saudi sport, and I have no doubt that he will do more in his career in the presidency of his beloved club Al-Hilal, and will achieve the aspirations of the fans and their dreams.”
Al-Jaber is expected to form his board of directors next week.
Sami Al-Jaber is one of Al-Hilal’s and Saudi national team’s veteran legends. He was Al-Hilal’s coach in the 2013/2014 season before he resigned a year later.
