CAIRO – 13 April 2018: Khaled Galal, former Zamalek general manager, revealed that Ismail Youssef, member of the team’s board of directors, informed him that he will be responsible for the coaching management of the club, replacing Ehab Galal.
Zamalek SC announced on Friday the sacking of Ehab Galal following the 2-1 loss against Ittihad in the 31st round of the Egyptian League.
“Ismail Youssef called me and informed me that I am the new Zamalek coach,” Galal said, according to Filgoal website.
“Whenever Zamalek hires a new foreign coach, I will be his assistant,” he continued.
Galal held a meeting to talk with his coaching staff, including general coach Nabil Mahmoud, coaches Ayman Abdel-Aziz and Amir Azmi Megahed, and goalkeepers coach Ayman Taher. Galal is considering a plan to get Zamalek out of the series of defeats.
Zamalek suffered under Galal’s command, as the club was eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup and lowered their chances to end the Egyptian League in second place and qualify to the CAF Champions League next season.
