CAIRO – 6 April 2018:Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah was voted the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week for the third time this season after performing excellently in the great 3-0 victory over Manchester City.
Salah scored the first goal then assisted in the third goal that was scored by Sadio Mane before being subbed due to groin injury in the second half.
It’s the third time in this campaign that the Egyptian winger has claimed the prize, having also done so for his performance in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Sevilla on Match-day one before thrashing Maribor 7-0 on Match-day three in the UEFA Champions League’s group stage.
Salah topped the list with many elite players like Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Bayern Munich’s James Rodriguez and Barcelona’s Gerard Pique. Salah collected 57 percent of UEFA’s public votes, while Ronaldo got 35 percent of the votes.

The 25-years-old is now on the top of the Premier League’s goalscorers’ list with 29 goals, five goals ahead of his nearest competitor, Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.
The Egyptian star is about to make several records in the current season of the PL, as he scored the same number of goals as Didier Drogba in one season, and he is not so far from beating Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of being the highest scorer of the Premier League. The international Portuguese holds the record with 31 goals when he was playing for Manchester United.
Liverpool is set to face Everton in the 33rd round of the Premier League on Saturday.
