CAIRO – 3 April 2018: The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has approved the Professional Clubs League's proposal to host the Professional Clubs League Cup starting next season.
EFA has set a condition for the tournament to be held during the breaks in the new season, so as not to interfere with the dates of the matches of the Egyptian Premier League and the Egypt Cup tournaments.
The Professional Clubs League, headed by Mahmoud al-Shamy, will hold a meeting with Hany Abu Reda, president of EFA, to discuss several outstanding issues owing to the recent national team camp in Switzerland, which witnessed Egypt losing to both Portugal and Greece.
The meeting will witness the activation of the bank account of the Professional Clubs League and the transfer of LE 500,000 ($28,280) from EFA’s bank account, as well as the possibility of holding the League Cup next season, in addition to preparing for the return of fans to stadiums’ terraces next season.
