CAIRO – 2 April 2018: Ismaily defeated Zamalek 3-1 at home on Monday in the Egyptian League after an amazing performance by Ismaily players. After the victory, Ismaily took another step towards securing a place in the CAF Champions League next season.

Ismaily started the game with a massive attacking line of Shoukry Nagib, Eslam Abdel-Naim and Ibrahim Hassan, while Zamalek counted on Bassem Morsy and Mohamed El-Shamy for their attacking line.

Ismaily opened the score after 15 minutes when Mahmoud Metwali received a cross from Ibrahim Hassan to make the score 1-0 for the hosts.

Zamalek equalized the score before the half time when Maarouf Youssef followed Hazem Imam’s shot to make the score 1-1.

Zamalek dominated the second half from the start and had created many chances to score the winning goal, but their strikers failed to break Ismaily’s defense.

Ismaily scored their second goal in the game 20 minutes before the final whistle, when Zamalek’s defense failed to clear the ball out of their area and Karim Ahmed, known as Bambo, put the ball in the net.
