CAIRO – 30 March 2018: Al-Ahly faces Lesotho’s Redskins on Friday night at 8 p.m. (CLT) in their fourth game of the Men’s African Volleyball Championship at Abdulla Al Faysal Halls.
Al-Ahly started their journey in the competition on Tuesday night, defeating Uganda’s Nemo Stars 3-0.
Al-Ahly also achieved a 3-0 victory over Ivory Coast’s Police on Wednesday night in their second game in the group.
Then, the Red Devils thrashed Kenya’s Prisons 3-0 on Thursday night in their third game in the group.
Al-Ahly is still missing Ahmed Abdel-Aal against the Redskins after he picked up an injury during the game against Ivory Coast’s Police on Wednesday.
The competition draw put Al-Ahly in Group A alongside Kenya’s Prisons, Ivory Coast’s Police, Congo’s Espoir, Lesotho’s Redskins and Uganda’s Nemo Stars.
The group stage is expected to conclude on Saturday so all the participating teams can take rest on Sunday before continuing the next stage on Monday.
Al-Ahly, the title holders, hope to achieve their 13th title in the competition, as the club has a record of 12 titles. Al-Ahly hosts the competition from March 27 to April 6.
