CAIRO – 28 March 2018: Ramadan Sobhy, Stoke City midfielder and former Al-Ahly player, welcomed the idea of returning to Al-Ahly during the upcoming transfer market, whether on loan or for sale, while Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, Kasım Paşa forward and former Al-Ahly player, refuses to return to Al-Ahly in the current period.
The last few weeks have witnessed several negotiations, between Al-Ahly officials on one side and Sobhy and Trezeguet on the other side, to convince the former Al-Ahly stars to return to the Red Castles in the summer transfer window on free transfer deals or loan contracts. The loan deals are the most likely to be done, as the free transfer deals would cost Al-Ahly a huge amount of money, which the club cannot afford at the current period.

According a source at Al-Ahly, Sobhy has welcomed the idea of returning to Al-Ahly due to his weak appearances with Premier League team Stoke City, which has affected his talent, as was very obvious during the Egyptian national team’s friendly game against Greece, which ended with Egypt’s loss.
Sobhy requested that Al-Ahly officials wait for his final decision after he returns from the World Cup, as he sees that he might receive other requests from European countries if he makes a notable performance in Russia.
On the other hand, the source declared that Trezeguet refused the idea of returning to Al-Ahly right now, and he requested that the club’s officials postpone their offer to the next season, as he now aspires to move to a European club better than Kasım Paşa, especially since he has received several good offers from English and German clubs, in addition to offers from top Turkish teams.
