CAIRO – 3 May 2017: La Liga’s runner-up Real Madrid predominantly secured his place at Cardiff (Venue for the Champions’ final) after eliminating its compatriot Atletico Madrid 3-0 in the Champions’ League semi final first leg Tuesday.
Madrid snipped an easy, comfortable win at the home match which took place at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu after Madrid completely dominated the game’s possession while 80,000 Madrid fans attended.
Legendary Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo who scored a hat-trick to inflict more misery on Atletico and made their road much more perilous on their next Wednesday’s home leg.
Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Juventus and Monaco, are the four European giants, who were thrown into the semi-final pairings after Europe’s Dortmund, Barcelona, Bayern, and Leicester got crashed out in the quarter-final.
The second semi-final leg will take place Wednesday, May 3 between Italian Calcio’s leaders Juventus and French Champions Monaco.
The return matches will follow a week later, and the final clash is scheduled for Saturday, June 3.
