CAIRO – 25 March 2018: Minister of Youth and Sports, Khaled Abdel Aziz, revealed on Sunday that the Egyptian Television will broadcast a number of the 2018 World Cup matches.

“The Egyptian TV will broadcast 24 matches of the World Cup,” Abdel Aziz told ON E channel.

“We are a few steps away from reaching an agreement to broadcast 24 World Cup matches, including Egypt’s matches,” Abdel Aziz followed.

“The announcement will be within days at a cost of about $42 million divided onto several countries; Egypt is expected to pay $10 million,” he stated.

The Qatari ‘BeIn Sports’ network has the rights to broadcast World Cup matches in the MENA region.

Hany Abu Reida, president of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) and a member of the FIFA board, is seeking a meeting with the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, to discuss the possibility of broadcasting Egypt’s national team and other World Cup matches on the Egyptian Television channels.

Egypt qualified for the 2018 World Cup,that will take place in Russia, after a 28-year absence.
