CAIRO – 23 March 2018: Former Portuguese Zamalek manager Jesualdo Ferreira revealed on Thursday that Portugal was wrong to face Egypt as a preparation for their World Cup group Arabian opponent, Morocco.

“Egypt has nothing to do with Morocco, they are different, the Egyptians are much more aggressive, more generous; they support pain better, they are very obedient and a different type of African Arabs," Ferreira told Record on Thursday.

Portugal will face Egypt on Friday at a friendly game on March 23 at Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich, Switzerland.

Ferreira, 71, had managed Zamalek in 2015 and he led the club to win the Egyptian League after 11 years of absence. He also led Zamalek to defeat Al-Ahly at the Cup final to win the double.

Ferreira spoke about Egyptians’ passion for football, he said, “They are completely crazy about football, I know there will be a lot of people supporting Egypt against Portugal in Switzerland.”
