CAIRO - 21 March 2018: Brazil’s national football team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, said everything is going well regarding Neymar’s rehabilitation, who had undergone surgery on his right foot early March.
"I talk two to three times a day with the physiotherapists of Paris Saint-Germain," Lasmar, who performed Neymar’s surgery, said in an interview with French daily newspaper L'Equipe.
The doctor added, "Everything is going well at the moment. The therapists are working hard and in a very professional way in order to help Neymar return to the field as soon as possible. He will not miss the World Cup.”
Neymar, 26, was injured on February 25 in a match against Marseille and missed the match in which PSG lost to Real Madrid 2-1 at the Champions League’s quarter final second leg match held on March 6 in Paris. Madrid also won 3-1 in the first leg match with Neynar’s participation.
The Brazilian star underwent surgery on March 3, and Lasmar later estimated that "the player will be absent between 2.5-3 months."
The Brazilian national team is counting on Neymar’s pivotal role, as he is currently the team’s most important player for the World Cup scheduled from June 14 to July 15.
