CAIRO – 20 March 2018: Cairo Hell Hounds defeated the title holders, GUC Eagles, 44-12 on Friday in the Egyptian National Football League at Petro Sport Stadium in Cairo.
The Hounds became the first team to defeat the Eagles, who had been unbeaten for the last three years.
Hounds’ American quarterback, Matthew Kershy, was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the game, throwing for 378 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for another 32 yards.
Hounds running back Ali Samer spoke to Egypt Today after the game, saying, “It was a great night for all the Hounds. This victory made us close to achieving the title.”
The Hounds dominated the game from the start and their players showed great passion in the game, leading them to victory.
Samer added, “I lost last season to the Eagles, but this time I was sure that we are ready to win. We gave everything on the field to achieve the victory.”
The Hounds are preparing to face the Warriors on Friday, March 30. The team hopes to continue their amazing run in the league.
In the ladies’ competitions, the Hounds defeated Gazira Thunders 40-28 to achieve their first victory in the league after four games.
Hounds’ Dina Hany was named MVP in the game after her great performance.
