CAIRO – 12 March 2018: Al-Ahly faces Nigeria’s Customs at Women's African Volleyball quarter finals on Monday night at Abdulla Al Faysal halls.

Al-Ahly players hope to continue their amazing run in the competition after they managed to qualify to the quarter finals following their three victories at the Group Stage.

Al-Ahly opened their participation at the tournament by defeating Uganda’s Nkumba 3-0 before achieving a victory over Rwanda’s Revenue and Cameroon’s Nyong with the same result to top their group.

Al-Ahly’s opponents, Customs, have lost only one game in the group stage to Kenya’s Prisons and they have achieved three victories over Cameroon’s INJS, Burkina Faso’s DOUANES and Ivory Coast’s Asec.

Customs qualified to the quarter finals as the group’s runner-up behind Kenya’s Prisons.

“It will be a tough game and more difficult than group stage games. We are focusing on our goal to achieve the title,” Al-Ahly’s Farida El Askalany told the club’s official website before the game.

Egypt’s El-Shams will meet the title holders, CF de Carthage, at the quarter-finals. El-Shams players are keen to avenge themselves from the Tunisian team who defeated them in the 2017 final to achieve the title.

Kenya’s Prisons will play against Rwanda’s Revenue while Kenya’s Pipeline will meet Cameroon’s Bafia.
