CAIRO – 12 March 2018: Barcelona’s Iván Rakitic spoke after his team’s 2-0 victory at La Rosaleda Stadium against Malaga, which remains at the top of the table and with a wide advantage over Atlético with eight points.
Rakitic was questioned about his former teammate and current Paris St. Germain player, Neymar.
"He has not told me anything; but, if it's up to me, I would open the door right now," he said. "Not only because of the relationship I have with him, but because of the type of player he is. I would always put Ney on my team," he added.
Neymar left Barcelona last summer to join PSG for a historic €222 million fee.
Barcelona faces Chelsea on Wednesday at Camp Nou in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League. The first leg ended 1-1, when Messi scored his first goal against the “Blues” in his ninth match against them.
"There is no need to talk much about Chelsea; it’s a matter of days before facing them again. Chelsea will be very difficult, and the fans know we have to be together. We want to make history together, but they can hurt us at any time," he said.
