CAIRO – 9 March 2018: Zamalek will face Ethiopia’s Welayta Dicha in CAF Confederation Cup’s first round second leg on March 18 at Cairo Stadium.
Officials accepted Zamalek’s request to play the game at Cairo Stadium instead of Suez Stadium. They will allow 5,000 Zamalek fans to attend the game.
Zamalek lost the first leg 2-1 on Wednesday in Ethiopia. Bezabeh Meleyo and Yared Dawit scored Welayta Dicha goals while Emad Fathy scored Zamalek’s only goal at the game.
“We have a good chance of winning the second leg and reaching the next round,” Zamalek’s manager, Ihab Galal, told Zamalek’s official website after the game.
Zamalek trained on Thursday morning at the hotel in Ethiopia and they will fly back to Cairo on Thursday night.
Galal added: “We dominated the game, especially the second half, and created many chances to score and they were lucky to score from their only chance at the second half.”
Zamalek will face El Ragaa on March 14 at the Egyptian League in Suez.
