CAIRO – 8 March 2018: Liverpool qualified to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2009 after defeating Porto 5-0 on aggregate in the round of 16.

Salah played only 15 minutes in the second leg that ended with a goalless draw on Tuesday night in Liverpool, while he played the whole game in their 5-0 victory in the first leg in Porto and scored their second goal in the game.

Salah became the third Egyptian player to reach that stage after Hany Ramzy and Samir Kamouna, who qualified to the same stage in 1999 with their German team, Kaizerslautern.

They played against the finalists, Bayern Munich, and both players appeared in the first leg in Munich when they lost 2-0.

Ramzy played 71 minutes before getting a red card, while Kamouna entered the game in the last 19 minutes of the game.

Both players did not appear in the second leg at home when their team lost 4-0 to end their campaign in the competition.

Salah hopes to lead his team to their first semi-final since 2008 and to be the first Egyptian player ever to reach that stage.
