Al Ahly to start their African journey against Mounana

CAIRO – 6 March 2018: Al Ahly will host Gabon’s Mounana on Tuesday night at Cairo Stadium at the CAF Champions League round of 32 first leg.

Abdallah el Said and Saad Samir will return to Al Ahly squad after they recovered from the injuries that forced them to miss Al Ahly games at the League.

Al Ahly’s manager, Hossam el Badry’s expected line-up for the game consists of Mohamed el Shenawi, Ayman Ashraf, Saad Samir, Ahmed Fathy, Ali Maaloul, Hossam Ashour, Amr el Solia, Abdallah el Said, Junior Ajayi, Walid Soliman and Walid Azarro.

Al Ahly have a good record against Gabonese teams as they played two games against USM Libreville and AS Sogara from Gabon and won both games.

Al Ahly won a record eight CAF Champions League titles and their players hope for a strong start at their campaign to win the ninth title.

Al Ahly lost the Champions League title last year to Wydad Casablanca.
