Abdel Hafiz denies Fathy and al-Saied rumors

CAIRO – 4 March 2018: Al Ahly football director, Sayed Abdel Hafiz, assured that there is no truth to the rumors about preventing Abdullah al-Saied and Ahmed Fathy from playing with the first team, because of the issue of renewing their contracts.

Abdel Hafiz explained that Al Ahly is dealing with its players professionally and with the utmost appreciation on both technical and administrative levels, especially with players who have given outstanding performances for the team.





He added that the rumors about the of the coaching staff’s intention to freeze out al-Saied after the game against the Gabonese Mounana in the CAF African Champions League scheduled for Tuesday at the Cairo International Stadium. He added that the rumor is illogical and does not require a response, especially as the player has great value and status at the club.


The director of football said that the negotiations on contract renewals are being handled attentively, but Al Ahly does not deal with the players without the consideration of their value and what they have provided to the club, contrary to what some people think.
