CAIRO – 02 March 2018: Al Ahly’s striker, Marwan Mohsen, has been back in form again after he scored the second goal in Al Ahly’s 3-0 victory over Al Dakhleya in the 27th round of the Egyptian league.
Marwan, Egypt’s international forward, is back to scoring goals after an absence for 437 days. He suffered from a cruciate ligament rupture in the 2017 African Cup of Nations’ semi-final with the Egyptian national team.
The 29-year-old spoke to Al Ahly’s media center about his team’s upcoming match in the CAF Club Champions League next Tuesday against Monana, a Gabonese club, in the 32nd round first leg.
“The African kick-off is very important for us; getting a good score here in Egypt is important also before playing the second-leg in Gabon,” Marwan said.
Marwan assured that he is looking forward to be in the Egyptian squad that will participate in the next World Cup in Russia. Marwan was the main Egyptian striker a year ago before he suffered his injury.
Marwan pointed out that he paid great attention to the coaching staff’s instructions, which helped him to score the goal against Al Dakhleya.
Mohsen joined Al Ahly SC from Ismaily SC in July 2016 and made 16 appearances with the club, scoring only two goals and provided one assist in the Egyptian Premier League competition.
