Frustrated Xavi: It’s unfair that Madrid ended the score 3-1

CAIRO – 18 February 2018: l Sadd (a Qatari Sports club) and former Barcelona player Xavi Hernández, spoke about the tie between Real Madrid and Paris St. Germain in the Champions League which ended with a victory for ‘Los Blancos’ 3-1.

Xavi had an interview with the French magazine So Foot, where he said that the result (3-1) was unfair and that he does not agree with Cristiano being better than Neymar in the match.

European title holders, Madrid, scored two late goals to decide the most-watched match this season against Paris St. Germain to end the tie 3-1 in the first leg; now the white team is waiting for the second-leg with cold blood.

"Madrid have something," Xavi told So Foot, "against them, you can never miss your chance, otherwise they will punish you, but the worst thing is that they hurt the opponent with nothing.”

"A counter-attack is enough for them to take things into their own hands. The game ends and you look at the score and say 'F***, 3-1, how did they do that?'” Xavi continued, according to Goal’s translation.

"You almost think it's an injustice that PSG lost by such a big margin because it was a game that should have ended 1-1, 2-2 or 2-1 for PSG," he added.

Xavi joined Al-Sadd from Barcelona on July 2015, he preferred to end his career in the Middle East alongside Qatari players.

"It's inexplicable, Real Madrid didn't play, but still won," Xavi continued. "I saw the broadcast on Spanish television with [former Madrid player and coach Jorge] Valdano and he said something very true,” he stated.

"In this match there were several phases, very different from each other, and there was a moment in which PSG dominated clearly.”

"Their [Madrid’s] philosophy is simply to win. That is what makes them so difficult to play against in the [Estadio Santiago] Bernabeu, for example. PSG played like Barca," the 38-years-old concluded.
