Champions League is back

CAIRO – 13 February 2018: Football fans have waited for the return of the Champions League games since the round of 16 draw held on December 11 in Nyon, Switzerland.

The Champions League returns on Tuesday at 9:45 PM (Cairo Time) with two games. The first game will be played in Italy between Juventus and Tottenham Hotspurs, while the second game will be between Basel and Manchester City in Switzerland.




Tottenham Hotspurs have had an amazing run in the League in the last three weeks, achieving seven points of 9 after two victories over Manchester United and Arsenal while they ended their game against Liverpool with a draw.

On the other hand, the hosts, Juventus, never lost a point in the league since their goalless draw against Internazionale on December 9.



Juventus reached two finals in the last three years in hopes that their experience at European competitions would help them against the organized Tottenham.

At the second game, the Premier League leaders, Manchester City, will have a tough visit to Basel to play their local team.

Manchester City were eliminated last year at the same stage to Monaco, seeking to continue their domestic dominance at the European level.



Manchester City hope for a better fate than their neighbors, Manchester United, who lost 1-0 to Basel at the group stage.



The Champions League games will continue on Wednesday when Real Madrid will host Paris Saint Germain while Liverpool will travel to Portugal to meet Porto.
