CAIRO – 11 February 2018: Valencia's Argentinean defender, Ezequiel Garay, suffers a broken hamstring in his left leg and on Friday underwent medical tests to determine the extent of the injury.

This was indicated by Valencia on its official site, which reported the injury suffered by the player in the 68th minute of the King’s Cup match between Valencia and Barcelona.

Garay had to be removed on a stretcher, left Mestalla with crutches, and, according to the same sources, the injury can be extended in time.

The Argentinean central is expected to be out at least six weeks, but that could easily become two months. His absence is even more serious because it coincides with that of his teammate Jeyson Murillo, who Marcelino García announced would still have two weeks until he reappears, following more than two months of injury and two operations.

Therefore, in the next matches, the coach will only have Gabriel Paulista and Rubén Vezo.

The clash against Barcelona also took its toll on Rodrigo and Coquelin, both with muscle overloads. The two are doubtful for the clash against Levante on Sunday, and it seems unlikely that Marcelino will force them.
