CAIRO – 2 February 2018: Al-Ahly is set to face the Saudi Arabia stars team Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. (CLT) at Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium in honor of Saudi Arabia and Al Shabab club legend Fouad Anwar, as he announced that he retired from playing football.
It is expected that many Saudi stars will participate in the game, along with some Egyptian players who play in KSA.
Al-Ahly’s coaching staff, headed by Hossam el-Badry, decided to eliminate a number of the essential players from the squad that will travel to Saudi Arabia for the friendly match against the Saudi national team next Friday.
Egyptian national team and Al Taawon goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary is set to play this game beside his Egyptian compatriot, Ettihad Jeddah player Mahmoud Kahraba.
Al Shabab club announced the list of the participating players in the “Fouad Anwar” game and it includes Omar Kherbiin, Yasser Kahtani and El-Shalhoub from Al Hilal club; Omar Hosawy and Mohamed El Sahlawy from Al Nasr club; Mohamed Nour and El Akayshi from Ettihad Jeddah; and Taiseer El Gassem and Moataz Hosawy from Ahly Jeddah.
Badry decided to include the players who don’t participate in the starting lineup of the team to his list of players who will travel to Saudi Arabia for the friendly match, while he excluded the essential players from traveling to save their energy.

Badry excluded some important players from the travelling squad, including Mohamed El Shenawy, Ali Maaloul, Ahmed Fathy, Amr El Soleya, Abduallah El Said, Junior Ajayie and Hossam Ghaly, beside the injured players – Hossam Ashour, Saad Samir, Ramy Rabeaa, Marwan Mohsen and Ahmed Hamdy.
