CAIRO – 22 January 2018: Javi Gracia is one step away from becoming Watford's new coach.

Garcia, former Malaga, Osasuna and Almeria's coach, is currently not managing any team after having rescinded his contract with the Russian Club Rubin Kazan last summer.

He is on the radar of Watford's board of directors who are looking to replace the sacked Portuguese coach Marco Silva.

Silva was sacked by the English club after only managing to win one match out of the last six.

The Watford management announced the dismissal of Silva through a statement on Twitter, which explained that the decision was made in consideration of "the safety and success of the club" and pointed out that "the decision had not been easy and had been very thoughtful."

The club has not yet officially announced Silva’s replacement, although all speculations point to Javi Gracia, who has already started negotiating his contract with the 'Hornets'.

Watford is in the 10th place in the Premiere League table and has lost 2-0 on Saturday at home to Leicester.
