CAIRO – 20 January 2018: Barcelona's midfielder Rafinha will be transferred to Inter Milanafter an agreement was reached between the two sides.
Mazinho, the father and representative of Rafinha, has confirmed this in an interview withGloboesporte, where he has also revealed the reason why Rafinha has decided to take this step.
"Rafinha's goal of being loaned out to Inter, with the option to buy, is simply to play. It's very difficult to get that opportunity at Barcelona, there are a lot of players in his position and Rafinha had the bad luck to be injured. He wants to play and feel happy, doing what he likes and in an excellent club like Inter Milan," explained Mazinho.
Rafinha will undergo medical review on Monday and will subsequently be introduced as a new Inter Milan player.
He will play on loan at Inter Milan until the end of the season; a change that will allow Rafinha to have minutes and have more opportunities to fight for a placewith Brazil in the 2018 World Cup, according to Mazinho.
Rafinha has a contract with Barcelona until 2020 and Inter Milan is looking for a future transfer which would cost up to €40 million ($48.9 million).
