CAIRO – 19 January 2018: The legendary Brazilian ex-footballer Edson Arantes do Nascimento, commonly known as Pelé, affirmed on Wednesday that it is "impossible" to love football and not be an admirer of his compatriot Ronaldinho Gaúcho, who announced that this year he will definitely retire from playing football.

"Ronaldinho, you brought a smile to everyone's face," wrote the legendary Brazilian ex-captain on his official Instagram account.

The three-time world champion with Brazil wished former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain player was able to "manage to haggle all the challenges of life, as he did on the turf."

Despite having not played professionally for two years, Ronaldinho, through his brother, made it official that he will hang up his boots this year, although he will still organize several friendly matches.

The last club where Ronaldinho played as a professional was Fluminense in 2015, and since then he has participated in several friendly and charity matches.

Brazil’s winger Neymar also paid tribute to Ronaldinho on social media on Wednesday. "I will always remember your joy on the field, you left a legacy that will hardly be surpassed in football art," said the Paris Saint-Germain attacker.
