CAIRO – 15 January 2018: Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez’s negotiations with Manchester United are very close to reach an end in the next few days. This was confirmed by Arsenal manager, Arséne Wenger, after leaving Sanchez out of the squad for the game against Bournemouth.
"His situation is not completely decided in one way or another; that's why I left him at home," explained Wenger, who did not want to give a clear statement about Chilean Sanchez’s new move.
The French coach was emphatic in pointing out that Alexis's future is far from the "Gunners" club: "It seems he will not extend his contract," he added.
This case has taken a turn of 180 degrees since last summer, when Manchester City reached a pre-agreement with the "Gunners" for the transfer of Alexis for £60 million that ultimately did not materialize.
According to information from The Guardian, the fate of the former Barcelona forward would be in Old Trafford, so that Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho would win the game against City’s coach Pep Guardiola.
