CAIRO - 13 January 2018: Another tough night for Real Madrid fans as their team lost 1-0 at home to Villarreal. Real Madrid continued their poor results in the Spanish League this season, as they achieved only one point from the last three games.

Villarreal was the better side in the whole game, and their coach, Javier Calleja, counted on counter attacks to break Real Madrid’s defense.

Real Madrid started the game with Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo leading their attack, and both players failed to cause problems to the visitors’ defense, who secured a clean sheet in the first half.

In the second half, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane used all his keys to change the situation in the game. Zidane replaced Francisco Isco and Gareth Bale with Lucas Vasquez and Marco Asensio, who failed to improve their team.

The master scene in the game was three minutes before the final whistle when Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals scored the only goal in the game and secured the three points for his team.

Real Madrid is 16 points behind the leaders, Barcelona, who travel to Basque to play Real Sociedad on Sunday night.
