CAIRO – 12 January 2018: Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s Egyptian winger, has been chosen by fans to win Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Player of the Month award for December for the fourth time in just five months.
"I'm very happy to win this award again,” Salah said on Liverpool’s official website after winning the award.
"It's always a good feeling for me to win this award because you work hard, you help the team to get points to achieve something,” he added.
Salah won the Premier League Player of the Month award for November; he also is Liverpool’s top goal scorer this season in all competitions. He has scored 22 goals, 17 goals in the Premier League and five goals in the UEFA Champions League.
"As I said before, the most important thing is to win the games, and we try to win each game,” he stated.
Salah places second in the Premier League top goal scorer list behind Harry Kane, who has scored 18 goals in the competition for Tottenham Hotspurs.
Salah is preparing with his team for their Saturday clash against Manchester City in the Premier League.
"We are working [well] at the moment, we are [picking up] points, so we are in a good position - we have to carry on now," he added.
Salah picked his best moment from December: "I always try to help the team, to improve myself, so each game for me was very important. [But] it was the first derby for me, so I'm very happy to score in my first derby," he concluded.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to start the game with Salah, alongside Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, due to Philippe Coutinho’s transfer from Liverpool to Barcelona in January for £142 million.
