CAIRO – 10 January 2018: Manchester City’s Belgian midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, has had a great season with his team, and the club hopes to renew the player’s contract.
“We are still in negotiations. I am waiting for an offer from the club, but my agent has been on holiday for three weeks. There is nothing really new for the moment," De Bruyne told Sky Sports after he led his team to defeat Bristol City 2-1 in the Carabao Cup semi-finals first leg on Tuesday night, scoring the first goal.
De Bruyne established himself a key player at Manchester City since he joined the club from Germany’s VfL Wolfsburg in 2015.
De Bruyne spoke about Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez’s negotiations to join Man City, saying, “He is a very good player. Obviously, we will see what happens in this transfer period if a good player comes to us that is better.”
Sanchez has been linked with a move from Arsenal to Man City since last summer.
