Mourinho and Conte’s feud continues

CAIRO – 06 January 2018: Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has launched a series of harsh comments against Manchester United coach, José Mourinho, suggesting that he has senile dementia.

He did not spare the “old” Arsene Wenger, Arsenal’s coach.

Chelsea’s coach responded with forceful comments, saying that he does not feel the need to behave like "a clown" on the sideline.

The English press interpreted that Mourinho’s talks was towards Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool’s coach, as well as Conte, with whom he already had a brawl last year at Stamford Bridge. The brawl was caused by the Italian’s celebration of the 4-0 score against Manchester United.

When asked about Mourinho's comments on Friday, Conte used the Italian phrase "demenza senile" to describe the Portuguese coach, which translates as senile dementia.

Conte said, "I think you have to see yourself in the past, maybe you were talking about yourself in the past. Maybe, sometimes, I think someone forgets what was said in the past about their behavior. I think so, I do not know the name, but I think it’s called senile dementia – when you forget what you do in the past."

Conte accused Mourinho of not having overcome his dismissal as coach of Chelsea, "There is a person who keeps looking here, do you understand? He left, but he keeps looking here."

Conte also responded to criticism from Arsenal coach Arséne Wenger after the tie between the two clubs this week.

Wenger accused Eden Hazard of diving in a duel against Hector Bellerin to win a penalty.

Arsenal hosted Chelsea in the 23rd round of the English Premier League when both clubs ended their game with a 2-2 draw.

"I think that if Arsene Wenger saw the game again, he would understand that he was very lucky with the decisions of the referee," explained Conte, who recalled the last London derbies, "Do not forget, in the last games we always finished the game with ten men, when they won the FA Cup and the Community Shield Cup games."

Mourinho, of course, took the chance and attacked Antonio Conte.

Speaking after his side's 2-0 FA Cup third-round win over Derby on Friday, Mourinho said the "clown" comments were not directed at Conte.

He added, "The only thing I want to say to end the story is that yes, I made mistakes in the past on the touchline. Yes, I will make less but I think I will still make a few.”

"What never happened to me - and will never happen - is to be suspended for match-fixing; That never happened to me and will never happen," Mourinho said, according to BBC Sport.

Conte, then the manager at Juventus, was initially banned for 10 months in 2012 after being accused of failing to report alleged match fixing in two games involving Siena during the 2010-11 season, according to ESPNfc website.
