CAIRO – 5 January 2018: Al-Ahly SC winger, Moamen Zakaraia, transferred to the Saudi Arabian league from Al-Ahli on a six month loan. Zakaria became the third player from Al- Ahli to move to a Saudi club in a week after Emad Motaeb and Ahmed El-Sheikh; a total of nine Egyptian players are now playing in the Saudi league.

Egypt’s national team defender, Mohamed Abdel Shafey, and Mahmoud Abdel Monem, known as Kahraba, were the only Egyptian players at Saudi Arabian clubs last season. Abdel Shafey plays for Al-Ahly, while Kahraba plays for Al-Ittihad and this season has witnessed the transfer of seven other players to Saudi Arabia.

Zamalek loaned Mahmoud Abdel Raziq, known as Shikabala, to El-Raed and Mostafa Fathy to El-Taawoum while Essam El-Hadary signed a one-year contract with El-Taawoum.

Al-Ahly also loaned their captain Hossam Ghaly to Al-Nasr, Emad Motaeb to Al-Taawoun, Ahmed El-Sheikh to Al-Ettifaq and Moamen Zakaria was the last to join them.
