10 teams that will partake in Dubai Basketball tournament

CAIRO – 4 January 2018: The Dubai International Basketball tournament’s organizing committee revealed on Wednesday that 10 teams have confirmed their participation in the 29th edition of the tournament.

Al Ahly and Zamalek will represent Egypt at the tournament, and they will compete with six clubs: Al-Riyadi, Homentmen and Al-Hikma from Lebanon; AS Sale from Morocco; ES Radès from Tunisia and Al- Nasr from Libya.

The tournament also includes two national teams: the Philippines and the UAE, the host team.

The draw for the basketball tournament will be held on January 15, and the participating teams will arrive in the UAE on January 17, according to Al Ittihad.

The Egyptian national team participated in the last tournament and failed to reach the semi-finals; they ended the tournament in fifth position. Morocco’s AS Sale won the title last year, defeating Lebanon’s Al-Riyadi at the finals 84-73, while Homentmen came in third place.

UAE is the host of the tournament, which takes place between January 1 and 27.
