CAIRO – 3 January 2018: Zamalek’s board decided on Wednesday to sack the club’s Montenegrin manager, Nebojša Jovović, after losing 1-0 to El-Gaish.

Nebojša, who was appointed as the club’s manager in August 2017, failed to achieve good results this season.

Zamalek’s loss against El-Gaish was their fourth this season. They are now in the fourth position with 28 points.

Zamalek are nine points behind the leaders, Ismaily. Zamalek played 16 games in the league under Nebojša’s command, and they won only eight games. They also lost four games and ended another four games with a draw.

Nebojša’s sacking came at a crucial time, as the team plays the Cairo Derby against Al-Ahly on Monday.
